When:
Plan to spend a memorable Mother’s Day in the Museum District on Sunday, May 13, 2007, from 1:00 to 6:00 p.m. We look forward to seeing you there!
Where:
In its lucky 13th year, the tour returns to spectacular Monument Avenue and nearby blocks of Kensington, West Franklin, and Park avenues. These homes highlight classic Museum District architecture as well as innovative remodeling and creative updating in both form and function.
Why:
- Get an insider’s view of spectacular homes and gardens in one of Richmond’s premier historic neighborhoods!
- It’s a Mother’s Day tradition! Friends and families look forward to this event year after year and are treated to new and exciting experiences each time!
- Funds raised from the tour do an immense amount of good: community improvement projects, web site development, and ongoing beautification and graffiti reduction efforts. In addition, the funds allow the Museum District to reach out to local and global neighbors in need, such as victims of natural disaster or other tragedy.
Honorary Chair:
We are very pleased to announce that the City of Richmond’s Fire Chief Robert Creecy is the 2007 Museum District Mother’s Day House & Garden Tour Honorary Chair. Chief Creecy is a notable Museum District resident who has served his community in many ways throughout his career, including as a firefighter, company officer, and a battalion chief.
He notes, “I am the little boy who started out on Grove Avenue and gets to be Richmond's Fire Chief everyday. Now, I am honored, and more than a little humbled, to be asked to serve as the honorary chairperson of the House Tour. Please mark your calendars and join us this Mother's Day in the Museum District.”
